The Laptop Distribution Ceremony at UoG was held on 22nd October 2014 in which PhD/MPhil/MS scholars were given Haier Laptops. All post graduate students of University of Gujrat were eligible without any merit.
A Laptop Distribution Ceremony under the Prime Minister Laptop Scheme was held at the Students Services center of the University of Gujrat (UoG) on Wednesday, October 22, 2014. Those laptops had been distributed among the PhD/MPhil/MS scholars of the UoG on merit basis. The Dean Faculty of Arts UoG Dr Freesh Ullah was the chief guest of this ceremony while the Director ORIC Dr Mudasser Iqbal and HoD, Dept. of Biotechnology & Molecular Biology were guests of honour.
Total 509 laptops were distributed in the first phase. 1697 laptops had been secured by the PhD/MPhil/MS scholars of the UoG in total which would be provided to them soon. The Director SSC Mr Muhammad Yaqoob and the representative of Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC), Coordinator PMLS Mr Raheel Raza were also present on this occasion.
Dr Freesh Ullah said that it was the foremost duty of a higher learning institution imparting of quality education to its students. He said that the government was taking concrete steps towards harmonizing the education system of Pakistan according to the modern demands of the world.
He said that technology had revolutionized the society at large and the traditional concepts of education had transformed totally. He hoped that the Prime Minister Laptop Scheme would help the students discovering new horizons of progress and development.
Mr Muhammad Yaqoob said that the SSC was serving the students of UoG with its better efforts. He told that the education system could be improved by facilitating the students giving them more opportunities.
