Lahore: Defence Day (Also called Yaum e Difa) is celebrated in Pakistan on 6th of September each year. Few years back, government had the practice to announce official holiday on that occasion. Moreover, celebration from all corners i.e. military, civil and political ends were held regularly.

But for now and onwards, there is no official holiday notification either from federal government or from any of the provincial governments.

This day is celebrated in honour commemorate in the memory of this nation who showed valour and strong defence against the Indian army during 1965 war.

As per Government of Pakistan (Interior Ministry) notification dated January 26, 2016, there is no holiday for Defence Day (6th September, 2016).
